Samuel Mfinanga was born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa. He came to the United States to build a life rooted in faith, family, and work ethic, until photographing his own children turned a quiet hobby into a calling.
Today, Mfinanga Photography + Motion is led by Samuel and Lucy Mfinanga as a Black-owned, woman-owned studio in Lincoln, Nebraska, serving couples, families, high school seniors, athletes, organizations, and brands across Nebraska and Colorado.
Samuel leads the image-making with a careful eye and a photographer's timing: contemporary, traditional, and photojournalistic work shaped by planning, light, movement, and a real read of people.
Lucy leads the client-care side of the studio experience: the preparation, communication, calm, hospitality, and follow-through clients mention when they describe how they were treated before, during, and after the camera came out.
